Sweet Cornbread Recipe
This is a delicious sweet side to any chili dinner.
Ingredients:
1 Cup Cornmeal
1 Cup Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
5 Tbsp. Sugar
1/2 tsp. Salt
2 tsp. Baking Powder
1/3 Cup Canola Oil
1 Cup Milk
1 large Egg, slightly beaten
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly grease and 9” square pan.
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, add the cornmeal, flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
Add in the oil, milk and egg, stirring until everything is combined.
Pour the batter into the pan, and bake for 24 to 30 minutes. The cornbread should just start to slightly brown, and a toothpick in the middle comes out clean.
